Stubborn Spring

Nearly here,
Stubborn spring
Clings to the skirts
Of Winter.
Dragging snow
And cold
Back again
And Again.
Hiding here
In flowerbeds
Daring daffodils
To push through
Whispering lies
Of cold
And frostbite
In the ears
Of silly bulbs.
